If you are looking for casual beach vibes, Burû offers great deals on local dishes, happy hour drinks, and live music for weekend sunsets. Show up in sandy beach attire or in blue suede shoes, and grab a table that faces the crashing waves, or the rock band, or head upstairs for the panoramic views. You can start off with a frosty mug, a 2 X 1 cocktail, or a frozen latte, and the friendly staff will ease you into a fun experience.
The atmosphere is unpretentious and laid back; the thatched umbrellas add cozy tropical charm.
The menu is tailored for a wide range of tastes highlighting fresh seafood and local flavors. The casados are loaded with delicious house-made tidbits, and easily made vegan upon request. The picadillo and beans are well seasoned, the burgers are hand crafted with 100% grass fed beef patties, the French fries are made from scratch, and the crispy patacones with bean dip are excellent to share. The ceviche and fish tacos are especially satisfying with the salty ocean breeze on the side.
Overall the Buru seaside restaurant hits all the right notes with solid cocktails, crowd-pleasing food with good value, attentive service, and especially the cover bands that summon us to do the shimmy.
